Assessment without Levels

From September 2015, levels and GCSE grades were removed for all schools nationally.

Our simple solution to this will ensure all students can fulfil their potential; maximising their life chances and being challenged to aspire for mastery and excellence. 

Key Drivers:

  • Create a curriculum focused on the progressive development and mastery of skills from KS2-KS4
  • Reduce the repetition of learning by ensuring skills and content are closely tracked from GCSE downwards
  • Reduce the focus on content coverage and number of areas studied, allowing for mastery of skills and knowledge
  • Ensure ‘Teaching and Learning’ sets high expectations; builds resilience and requires students to question and probe to encourage mastery
  • Encourage high quality work
